Safety and Solar Film Training

Two day class: $1,499

Beginner - No Experience Required

Dive into a two-day immersive experience in Architectural Window Film, guided by our seasoned team of professionals. This comprehensive training will equip you with the required techniques to install both interior and exterior solar films, in addition to 4 mil and 8 mil safety films.
But we're not just about the technicalities - we also offer business comprehension behind the film. This course goes beyond the performance aspects of solar window films, allowing you to practice on various window types, preparing you for any upcoming window tinting tasks.
Each attendee is treated to their own application tools and a complimentary 60"x50' roll of R Silver 20i or NT PerLite Ceramic 35i reflective window film - all included in the course. As if this weren't enough, we also provide breakfast and lunch. Upon completion of the class you will receive a certificate of recognition.

What You'll Learn

The majority of class time is spent on hands-on installation. You'll come away with real, job-ready skills — not just theory.
  • Safety and Security Film Installation: Get hands-on experience installing 8mil, 12mil, and 15mil safety films. You'll learn how each thickness addresses different threat levels — from shatter retention to forced entry protection — and how to select the right film for each application.
  • Attachment Systems for Security Films: One of the most critical — and most overlooked — aspects of security film installation is the attachment system. This training gives you dedicated hands-on time working with attachment systems, so the film performs as intended when it matters most.
  • Solar Film Installation: Expand your knowledge of architectural solar films including reflective, dual-reflective, spectrally selective, and neutral options. Learn how to match the right film to any glazing system and customer need — a skill that directly improves your installs and your close rate.
  • Datasheets and Glazing Compatibility: Learn how to read product datasheets and use Avery Dennison's Film-to-Glass (FTG) Application Chart. This protects you, your customer, and the warranty on every job.

We strongly recommend completing the 2-day Safety and Solar Film Training before registering for the exam. You should also have at least one year of hands-on experience in architectural window film installation before sitting for the exam.

What the Exam Covers
