We asked Amy:

What inspires you?
I am inspired by people, communities and the everyday. I love people watching and meeting new people. I think everyone has a fascinating story in them and I like to listen, learn and engage. I am inspired by real stories of courage and commitment where people have found the strength to overcome adversity. One of my favourite podcasts is The Moth—it can have me crying and laughing all within the space of 10 minutes—but it always lifts me up and motivates me for the day.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I love to travel and I have been to some amazing places around the world—but I would still choose to live in the UK. It is my home and where the majority of my friends and family are, including my dog. I also love drinking tea—and honestly, albeit I am biased, the British way of making tea is really the best!

Other than spending time with friends and family, what do you do in your spare time?
I tend to overfill my personal time. I love to read—normally reading at least a book a week. I also love to bake and go through stages of wanting to bake two or three times a week—not good for the waistline! But mainly I love a project—at the moment I am learning how to play the piano—really relaxing and stressful all rolled into one! I probably should just learn to relax!
