Avery Dennison recently participated in the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD) Annual Conference + Expo in Washington, DC. June 2 - 5. The theme of the conference was "Designing Change, Changing Design." Avery Graphics products were used in the Auction for Education identity system designed by Kent State design students.
Over the last five years, SEGD has partnered with universities and professionals developing innovative educational programs. These programs have involved professional/client partnerships, academic-led research projects, and courses bringing students from varied disciplines to Environmental Graphic Design (EGD).
Avery Dennison supported the 2010 SEGD Auction for Education by providing Avery Graphics material for the auction’s identity system including stanchions, auction paddles and the auction stage. The identity system was created by design students in Kent State's School of Visual Design. Avery Dennison sponsored the Kent State students’ attendance and travel to the conference,
The SEGD Auction for Education is one of the most exciting events at the annual SEGD Conference + Expo. It takes place during the Expo cocktail reception on Friday afternoon. The funds from the auction and raffle bring students who have won SEGD Design Awards to the conference giving the students the opportunity to experience the world of SEGD and make valuable connections in the design industry. The 2010 Education Auction was attended by approximately 500 designers and industry leaders. It raised $19,000 for student education and scholarships.
Avery Dennison is proud to support the Kent State students – the next generation of design professionals, who are also in close proximity to the Graphics & Reflective Products Division facility in Painesville, Ohio.
