The Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Solutions technical team has! The Geneva, Ohio Fire Department evaluated options to repaint a "pre-owned" ladder truck it purchased but was disappointed by the cost and time that painting the truck would take. Through its research, the department came across vinyl wraps and approached Avery Dennison about the possibility of wrapping the truck - a win-win for everyone.

The estimates the fire department received to paint the truck ranged from $15,000 - $20,000 and the truck would be out of commission for 4 - 6 weeks. Instead, after talking with Paul Roba, technical service manager at Avery Dennison, the fire department decided that a more cost effective and time efficient solution was to wrap the truck with Avery Supreme Wrapping Film.

The fire department crew agreed to remove all the hardware, sanded out the rust spots and primed them, allowing the installation to go smoothly and quickly. The technical team members worked together to install the Avery Supreme Wrapping Film in Carmine Red and White over three days at the station. The experience provided a team building exercise for the technical service team.

“We wouldn’t have been able to update the fire truck and get it in service quickly without Avery Dennison’s help,” said Chief Doug Starkey, Geneva Fire Department. “The wrap was the perfect solution, it was much quicker and cheaper than paint. We truly appreciate Avery Dennison’s support.”

A local sign shop put on the reflective striping, letters and fire department crest to finish the truck. “Overall this was a great experience,” said Molly Waters, a member of the technical service team at Avery Dennison. “My technical service teammates and I had the opportunity to gain additional hands-on experience using Avery Dennison vinyl as well as serve the NE Ohio community and meet a great group of guys at the Geneva Fire Department.”
