2015 Wrap Like a King Winner Takes the Crown with Psycho Hurricane

Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions crowned Kevin Kempf, car wrap installer at PG Nola, King of the Wrap World at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kempf’s psychedelic entry, “Psycho Hurricane,” won against 172 installers from 25 counties. The vinyl car wrap design used Avery Dennison Conform Chrome Silver and Black in addition to DOL 1370 luster overlaminate and HV 1200 black reflective film.

“It’s an honor to be chosen as the King of the Wrap World. We worked so hard on ‘Psycho Hurricane’ and are thrilled to be recognized as the winner,” said Kempf. “The car has been seen all over the world and has been on the cover of magazines, but being crowned the ultimate winner and King of the Wrap World is one of the industry’s highest honors.”

The grand prize winner was announced at the Wrap Like a King Crowning on Wednesday, November 4 at the SEMA Show. NASCAR legend, Richard Petty, crowned Kempf as the King of the Wrap World and presented all the regional kings with their trophies. All seven regional winners were present and recognized at the Crowning.

The North America Central title earned Kempf a prize package that included a three-night stay in Las Vegas to attend the SEMA show, an Avery Dennison Wrap Class of his choice, Wrap Like a King swag and a meet-and-greet autograph signing with Ryan Friedlinghaus from West Coast Customs™. He will also receive a $1,000 cash prize, trophy and marketing support from Avery Dennison. The marketing support includes targeted Facebook ads, social media exposure, and a print ad in a trade publication.

The panel of seven industry judges evaluated 173 total submissions based on criteria of visual transformation (difference between the before and after pictures submitted), quality and skill level of installation, overall public look and appeal, and uniqueness of the design.
