For the first time, attendees may extend their two-day training with an optional third day for the certification exam. This program marks the company’s first architectural window film certification offering. The certification will empower installers to validate their expertise and stand out in a competitive market. Upon passing, certified installers will earn a badge demonstrating to homeowners, business owners, contractors, building managers and architects that they have successfully completed testing and shown the expertise needed to work with these complex films.
To support professional development, Avery Dennison is offering a 20 percent discount for those who bundle the two-day training and the certification exam registration together. Attendees will receive a professional set of application tools and a complimentary 60”x100’ roll of film (choice of R Silver 20i, SF Clear 8 mil, or NT PerLite Ceramic 35i), upon course completion.
Designed for all skill levels – from those installers new to the trade to seasoned professionals – the program provides the hands-on practice necessary to confidently expand service offerings and potentially take on more profitable jobs. “Our expert-led workshops are designed to support all skill levels. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge, plus learn tips and tricks that distinguish excellent installers,” said Graeme McKnight, Marketing Program Associate at Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions.
The core training curriculum includes:
Safety and Security Film Installation: Hands-on experience installing 8 mil, 12 mil, and 15 mil safety films. Attendees will learn how each thickness addresses different threat levels — from shatter retention to forced entry protection — and how to select the right film for each application.
Attachment Systems for Security Films: One of the most critical — and most overlooked — aspects of security film installation is the attachment system. This training provides dedicated hands-on time with attachment systems, so the film performs as intended when it matters most.
Solar Film Installation: Expanded knowledge of architectural solar films, including reflective, dual-reflective, spectrally selective and neutral options. Participants will learn how to match the right film to different glazing systems and customer needs — a skill that directly improves installs and close rates.
Datasheets and Glazing Compatibility: Workshop attendees will learn how to read product datasheets and use the Avery Dennison Film-to-Glass Application Chart that protects the vendor, the customer and the warranty on every job.
